Two charities have received cheques from Govia Thameslink Railway for over £12,500 each, raised as part of an event marking the retirement of the Southern fleet of Class 313 trains.
May 2021 saw the withdrawal of the remaining active Class 365 units by Govia Thameslink Railway, and although there were hopes that they would find further use, disposal of the fleet began four months later. Govia Thameslink Railway has successfully run one of its Great Northern Moorgate Class 717 trains using the digital in-cab signalling system ETCS level 2 (European Train Control System).
