For our Elizabeth line coverage, I was able to speak to Elizabeth line director Howard Smith about the project’s journey to this point and what the future holds. Could there be new trains and what impact does the delay to HS2 reaching Euston have on the Elizabeth line?
MTR operates the new railway, and I was lucky enough to visit its training facility at Old Oak Common and sample both its simulator and innovative Virtual Reality training, which you can read about. And I was lucky enough to enjoy a cab ride from Stratford to Old Oak Common as part of that feature.
The Severn Valley Railway held a historic and highly successful Spring Diesel Festival on May 18-21, and we have a pictorial look at the event.
