IN REFERENCE to the picture of the Class 14 in your Rarities supplement (April issue), I can tell you the date is indeed November 27, 1965 and the loco is No. D9521 working the 17.00 Gloucester Eastgate-Cheltenham Spa.
To date, this remains the only main line passenger working by a Class 14 that I have a record of.
I doubt it was the only one ever, as it is highly probable one maybe rescued a failed train on the approach to a station, but I would be surprised if the number of main line Class 14 workings was more than single figures.
