FREIGHTLINER has taken delivery of its first wagons since US owner Genesee & Wyoming unveiled its new orange, black and yellow corporate image for the erstwhile ‘green team’.
Unsurprisingly, although not without some sadness, the classic British Racing green adopted in the late-1990s has been retired and the box wagons are showing off a new primarily grey scheme, with yellow solebar and large yellow and orange Genesee & Wyoming variant of the Freightliner logo.
The first of the 76 new MWA-B (UIC coded Ealnos) arrived in the final half of December, with GB Railfreight’s No. 66740 transferring the 29 boxes (Nos. 81 70 5891 500-505/507-529) to North London as a 6B25/03.45 Dollands Moor-Wembley Yard service on December 20.
