My layout called “Astley Bridge” was inspired by Crewe Gresty Bridge. It is a fictitious location somewhere in the midlands between Derby, Nottingham and Leicester.
There is a DRS maintenance depot along with a GBRf wagon maintenance facility. The layout is 6ft in length and is DCC.

Almost all of the locos are DCC sound fitted, either factory sound, have upgraded speakers, or have aftermarket sound – all done by Paul Wright of T&RSW Ltd, who also built the layout for me. He did such a good job of the detailing the layout that I did not have to add or finish anything!

There is no storage yard so locos and a few wagons are shunted and moved around the layout during a typical operating session. Having DCC sound adds immensely to the “fun” factor.
